Why Kitchen Shift?
Kitchen Shift has been a work in progress for the past 9 years.
I invite you to take a stroll down memory lane with me☺
In October of 2008, while 8 months pregnant with our son Chase, my husband received the diagnosis of Celiac Sprue, an autoimmune disease. I recall sitting down with him and a dietician at the hospital who essentially handed us a folder of handouts and wished us “good luck”. With the holidays around the corner, I realized I had to do some homework. While avoiding gluten was what I was initially tasked with, I quickly realized there was other “stuff” in my food that shouldn’t be there. Stuff I couldn’t pronounce. Preservatives, artificial flavors, artificial sweeteners, cheap processed oils… the list goes on. So like most things in life- with this new diagnosis and challenge- came enlightenment. I became obsessed with reading and learning everything I could about food and how it affects our body. I enrolled in The Institute for Integrative Nutrition and a year later was certified as a Health and Wellness Coach. I taught gluten free cooking classes and worked at The Weekly Juicery developing their first round of raw and vegan foods. In 2012 I was ready to take a big leap and start my own coaching business under the name G*free*ology (the g denoting gluten and grains)
Since 2012 my coaching has grown into something so much more than a guide to being gluten free. My passion is the digestive system! I help clients identify toxins and food sensitivities that are wrecking havoc on their stomach- causing constipation, bloating and weight gain. I help clients identify what they SHOULD be putting in their bodies- and WHY! I encourage my clients and keep them accountable. I push them to start TODAY..

TODAY- you deserve a mind and body that feels energized without the swings. You deserve to have good digestion- where food is fueling and nourishing-not something to stress about or feel controlled by. You deserve to fit into the jeans you have always loved. You deserve to be able to workout for 45 min and feel GREAT. And then be able to do it again tomorrow. And if you have kids- your people deserve to see you taking care of yourself To see you proud of how YOU look and feel. Your confidence will give them confidence. Trust me on that one!

WORK YOUR SHIFT IN THE KITCHEN
Learning how to work your SHIFT in the kitchen without stress, confusion or swear words! To achieve good health- you must know how to prepare some of your own meals. I am not suggesting you cook all 21 meals a week from scratch. But I would venture to say many are eating over half outside of their kitchen. And what that means for your health is added sugar, sodium, trans fats (think CHEAP oil) all of which contribute to inflammation in the body. And the kicker is you are paying MORE for LESS quality ingredients. Let that really sink in. You are paying more to be fed poorly. NO. THANKS.
MAKE SHIFT HAPPEN
You must make mental shifts to make physical shifts! Rome wasn’t build in a day- and your body isn’t going to transform in a day either. Transformation WILL happen- but be prepared for shifts forward (and sometimes backwards!.) This is a journey to wellness. Enjoy each step and LEARN from each misstep. Rather than fixating on radical changes that end up lasting for 2 weeks (or even 2 days) at Kitchen Shift we focus on making subtle shifts-
