Ann’s 12-Month Success Story

January

Started POWERSHIFT & committed to join MemberSHIFT

February

Slowly back to exercising, 6 full weeks of clean eating, used continuous glucose sensor for the first time.

March

Full steam ahead using POWERSHIFT 100% of the time, exercising and using the sauna. Weight was coming off, clothes were too loose.

April

I started over doing it. Beth had to prove to me I was under eating. Once I adjusted my protein intake (and this was hard) things took off! The muscle I built was incredible.

May

Brought a 6 month asthma check up, who was amazed I had gotten through spring without a blip.

June

I missed a monthly asthma shot, and didn’t even notice.

By September

I had incorporated a LOT of little hacks from Beth. Journaling, more variety in my diet, including seasonal produce, trying an new recipe every week, and the membership in member shift started growing, with so many likeminded women, engaging in our calls every Wednesday.

October

My weight had dropped so significantly, I had to be taken off medications I’d been on for years, including 2 sleep medicines and an antidepressant, because they were beginning to have negative side effects. My body didn’t need them anymore. I also had not one article of clothing from the year before that fit anymore. My coats, vests, shoes, etc, all looked like I was wearing my husbands clothes. I’ve lost a shoe size.

TODAY

I went back to my 6 month checkup with my asthma doctor. My breathing tests were off the charts. The inflammation my body has reduced is astounding. I was in a trial for a drug, Xolair, and I have been on it for 20 years. Now, I am able to cut my dose in half for the next 12 months, and the next 12 months we are going to wean me off completely.

I was thrilled when she came to me and wanted to work with me 1-2-1. We had 3 months of private VIP coaching before we transitioned her into our Membershift Membership group. Ashley has seen some INCREDIBLE shifts since we started working together in September of 2023. “I’ve always struggled with an all-in (or out) mentality when it comes to “dieting.” With that, I’ve bounced around a similar weight that has slowly climbed a few pounds but with age, has become much harder to maintain. I’d do a cleanse. Feel skinny. Eat and drink without regard. Feel fat. Do a cleanse. Rinse and repeat.

For years, I’ve said I’ll be at my best when I turn 40. And every year when I’d fall off whatever wagon I had decided was the pathway to ‘best’ at the time, I would say I’ll just do better next year. In August, I realized I was not only not better but probably in the worst shape I’ve been - stressed, bloated, exhausted, unsure of how to fix it and running out of time. So after years of following @kitchenshift online, I sent the message and did something I rarely do - asked for help. I hired her as a coach. And I told no one because I was terrified I would fail.

The next several months of coaching changed my year. Beth met me where I was, without judgement but with a fierce determination to help me meet my goals, which meant some tough love at times. Perhaps the most important thing she did for me was giving me permission to be imperfect.

I could write pages about what we did in that time period (and are still doing!), but here’s what I’ll say for now: I changed my workouts and got back in the gym. I got a journal. I developed a morning routine. I learned what foods to eat and how to cook(!!). I (mostly) stopped drinking. I listened to new podcasts. I elevated my supplements. I created habits. I changed my mindset. I made new friends and gained a new support system.

And, my anxiety and my headaches improved dramatically. My skin cleared. My bloating disappeared (y’all I wore a crop top to the gym!). I went down a size in pants. And I freaking waltzed into 40 happier and more comfortable in my own skin than I’ve ever been.

“I started following Beth on Instagram in the fall of 2023, slowly incorporating some of her tips into my habits and meal planning. 

Then in December, my world was turned upside down when my spouse filed for divorce. At the time, my attorney advised me to get a physical and see a doctor frequently.  ‘This is going to wreck your health if you're not careful,’ I was told.

I knew I didn't need a doctor - I needed Kitchen Shift.

The skills I learned in POWERSHIFT - meals, movement and mindfulness - got me through one of the most difficult seasons of my life.  I had a pantry stocked with foods that would bolster my health, supplements to support my energy, immunity and sleep needs, and simple recipes for the days I could not think.  I'm not kidding when I say that Beth's detox soup fed me for most of January! 

I walked no matter what. I walked and cried, I walked and sulked, but I walked every day.  I ate REAL food.  I practiced gratitude and used breathing techniques to prevent the cortisol produced by stress from completely flooding my system.  

I could have navigated this season with tubes of cookie dough and bottles of wine, depressed and in a food coma.  But KitchenShift gave me a grounding and a focus when taking care of myself was more important than ever.  And it was SO EASY.  No counting calories or macros, no high-energy workouts to complete. It's honestly a journey of knowing you and your body better and enjoying meals made with real, unprocessed food.

Today, I'm in the best shape that I've been in for YEARS.  But more importantly I feel SO HEALTHY.  I'm not exhausted by 3 p.m. I sleep well.  And I have the energy and strength to play with my daughter and keep up with our busy life.  It's amazing that I feel at my very BEST during what should have been one of the worst experiences that life can hand you.  And I know that Kitchen Shift helped me get here. “
